Read with Us: January 2018

What we've mostly been reading this month . . .

This Phenomenal Life; written by Misha Maynerick Blaise
This book was recommended by Sara, Happiness is Here, one of my favourite, inspiring unschooling bloggers (side note, check out her blog if you haven't already, it's fab!). Through beautiful illustrations and straightforward language this book explains all of the fascinating ways that we are connected with the natural world. This is one of those books that will be left out on the coffee table for us to keep going back to.

Secret Marvels of the World; a lonely planet book
Big Bean bought this book for Daddy for Christmas, but we have all been enjoying it. It has stunning photographs of some weird, wonderful and secret places around the world. Because there are 360 places in the book I plan to read about one each day with the girls. I'm hoping it inspires some further exploration into these amazing places.

Winters Child; written by Angela McAllister and illustrated by Graham Baker-Smith
Oh my, this book, the illustrations are just stunning, and the story is so sweet. You feel like you're in an enchanting winter wonderland, as each beautiful page draws you in. The pictures inspired Big Bean to draw some in a similar style after we read it which was lovely.

So that's what we've been reading this month, I hope we've inspired you to pick up some new books, Follow me on Instagram or comment below to tell me all about what books you've enjoyed this month.

This post is part of a series of posts about what we are reading. You can read the others here.
